I have recently taken on the role of Chief Linguist for Velocity, a social enterprise which matches healthcare professionals from several African countries with job opportunities in countries that are experiencing shortages in the labor force. Part of my responsibility is to help design an effective and high-quality language learning program which will enable our learners to reach the required level of linguistic proficiency to qualify for potential job placement (generally at the B2 level on the CEFR scale). In that context, I have written a number of short articles which reflect on a variety of issues that play a role in the learning process and I am reposting them here on my blog.
